Vacuuming to remove loose dirt, dust, and pet hair is the key to keeping your curtains and blinds looking fantastic. We recommend using a hand-held device with a soft brush attachment. Gently vacuum from top to bottom, making sure the vacuum is set to a low power mode to protect delicate fabrics and blind surfaces.

For stains, spot clean using a clean, wet sponge to blot the mark, then gently dab with mild dish soap or white vinegar.

Light steam cleaning can help freshen up curtains, especially heavier fabrics like blockout curtains. Work from the top to the bottom, ensuring they don’t become overly wet. For blinds, a damp microfiber cloth works wonders for removing dust and smudges.

We like to take a safety-first approach — which is why we usually recommend avoiding full washing of curtains, as it can cause up to 5% shrinkage. For blinds, avoid soaking as moisture may damage the material or mechanisms.

• Bleach curtain or blind fabrics

• Tumble dry curtains or expose blinds to high heat

• Iron curtains at high temperatures or apply excessive heat to blinds
